The dust has finally settled since the end to season six of
Game of Thrones. But with that has become all the second guessing and wild fan
theories. Even the cast have started jumping in with little indications of what
might be to come. Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark has piped in saying that
season seven will ‘blow our minds.’ So with many top episodes still yet tocome, which have been the hottest ones so far?
Battle Of The Bastards
Yes starting off with an exceedingly obvious one. BOTB gotthe highest rating ever on IMDB and it is easy to see why. The much anticipated
battle between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton was fantastic. Not only was the
action scene brilliant, but there was an immense amount of satisfaction at
finally seeing the evil and twister Ramsay Bolton meet his grisly end. Not to
mention finally seeing the starks back in Winterfell, where they belong.
Baelor
For those who hadn’t read the book this was the first episode
which really made Game of Thrones what it is. Not only is the show known for its
violence, nudity and sex, but also its ruthlessness at killing off main
characters. Lead character Ned Stark was the first to taste the ruthlessness of
GOT. It seems as though Sean Bean will forever be cursed as dying in each film
or TV programme he is on.
Blackwater
The first big battle in the show which did nothing to disappoint.
The whole episode was dedicated to one plot. Stannis Baratheon was on the war
path as he attacked Kings Landing. Action packed, full of gore and explosions.
We also get a view into Joffrey Baratheon and just what a coward he really is.
A touching note to the episode has to go to Sandor Clegane. The big brute
showed his lighter side when he said he would ‘save’ Sansa.
The Rains Of
Castamere
Not many people were expecting quite the drama that this
episode brought on us. We all knew that Game of Thrones would kill off a few
main characters. But honestly, who was expecting this. The final sequence is
brilliantly directed, the look on Catelyn’s face is priceless as she sees her
family killed and her whole life crumble before her. Although we did see Lady
Stark get her throat cut, she never did turn out to be the legendary ‘Lady
Stoneheart.’…….. Yet
Hardhome
Possibly the episode that everyone simply fell in love with
Jon Snow. The Knight’s Watchmen showed his intense bravery and his desire to
keep the realm safe. We see one of the most intense battles in Game of Thrones
history, with some quite thrilling action sequences. We also see just what a
great fighter Jon Snow turns out to be, vanquishing a White Walker with ‘Longclaw.’
So there we have it. I will admit there are several, (nearly
every episode) which have been missed off the list. The Dance of Dragons, The
Watchers On The Wall and of course the extremely satisfying Lion and The Rose.
